We would like to share that our collaborative research on earthen architecture was featured at the Pavilion of Türkiye at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia. The group exhibition 2 Years 10 Meters, curated by Natalia Schmidt, opened on April 24, 2024, at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. This project is developed in the summer workshop titled Robotic Earthcrafts conducted at İstanbul Bilgi University Architectural Design graduate program. Students call this project “ZOM”. The A-Chord folding structure was developed and constructed for the World Wood Day 2015 event in İstanbul. The structure had fifty wooden struts of 4 cm X 4cm with changing heights from 200 cm to 230 cm. Two struts joined with a hinge enabled the folding motion of the structure. Thus, the nearby unit is folding in the opposite direction. The Grasshopper model generated all construction details and drawings automatically.
